Day-by-Day Program
Your private driver handles every transfer. Pace and stops are completely flexible.
Head north across the Haouz plain to Morocco's largest city. Visit the Hassan II Mosque — built over the Atlantic on a promontory, it's one of the world's most dramatic religious buildings. Walk the Art Deco quarter of the old French Ville Nouvelle — Casablanca has the finest collection of 1930s architecture outside Paris. Evening on the Corniche seafront watching the Atlantic breakers roll in.
Drive 100km south to El Jadida (Mazagan) — a UNESCO World Heritage Portuguese walled city. Walk the 16th-century ramparts overlooking the Atlantic and descend into the extraordinary Portuguese Cistern — a vast vaulted underground water reservoir with light filtering through a central oculus onto its mirrored floor. One of Morocco's most atmospheric spaces. Stroll the small medina and eat fresh fish at the port.
Drive south along coastal roads to Essaouira — a UNESCO-listed medina of white walls and blue shutters, perpetually swept by the Atlantic trade wind. Walk the 18th-century ramparts, browse the argan wood workshops and the spice souks, watch the blue fishing boats in the port and eat grilled fish right off the boats. Essaouira is one of Morocco's most relaxed and beautiful cities — two nights here is ideal.
A full day in Essaouira at your own pace. Morning walk through the medina lanes when they're quiet. Afternoon on the Essaouira beach — 10km of hard Atlantic sand popular with kitesurfers and horse riders. Visit the argan oil co-operative in the forest north of the city and watch Berber women hand-crack argan nuts. Evening: Gnawa music in the cafés of the medina — Essaouira is the spiritual home of Gnawa.
Drive south through the argan forest — the endemic argan tree grows only in this part of the world, and you may spot goats climbing in the branches eating the fruit. Pass through Tiznit and arrive in Agadir — Morocco's main Atlantic resort city, rebuilt after the 1960 earthquake with wide boulevards and a 10km beach. Walk the Corniche and climb the Agadir Oufella Kasbah hill at sunset for the panoramic view over the bay.
Drive 20km north of Agadir to Taghazout — Morocco's most famous surf village, set in a rocky bay with legendary point breaks. Even non-surfers love this place: the painted fishing boats, the cliffside cafés, the sunsets. Take the side trip up into the Aït Baamrane valley to Paradise Valley — a hidden gorge of turquoise pools and palm trees, an hour inland from the coast. Return to Taghazout for an evening by the sea.
Return to Marrakech via the Souss Valley and the option of a stop in Taroudant — a beautifully intact walled Berber city set in orange-grove orchards, often called "Little Marrakech." Arrive back in Marrakech in the afternoon. Drop-off at your riad, airport or onward connection.

Frequently Asked Questions
Not at all. Taghazout is a beautiful village to simply be in — walk the cliffs, watch the surfers, eat fresh fish and soak up the laid-back atmosphere. We can also take you to Paradise Valley (a stunning gorge inland) for swimming and walking. The surf lesson is always optional.
Essaouira is a year-round destination — it never gets very hot (the trade wind keeps temperatures moderate) and never very cold. The wind can be strong in summer, which is why kitesurfers love it. Spring and autumn have the best balance of mild weather and calm conditions. June sees the Gnawa Music Festival.
Absolutely. Safi (pottery capital), Oualidia (oysters and lagoon), Sidi Ifni (art deco Spanish town) and Mirleft (hidden coves) are all coastal alternatives we can add or swap in. Tell us what you're interested in and we'll build the right route.
Yes — we can reverse the circuit, starting in Agadir and ending in Marrakech, or build a one-way itinerary from Agadir to Casablanca with a transfer. Contact us with your arrival and departure airports and we'll plan accordingly.
