Day-by-Day Program
Your private driver meets you each morning. All stops are flexible — this is your trip.
Your driver picks you up from your riad and heads south through the High Atlas via Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260m) — sweeping mountain views and Berber villages all the way. Stop at Aït-Ben-Haddou, the UNESCO-listed mud-brick ksar used as a set in Gladiator, Game of Thrones and Lawrence of Arabia. Continue through the Draa Valley to Ouarzazate for the night.
The most dramatic driving day. Head east along the Route des Kasbahs, stopping at the red-rock Dades Gorge. Continue to Todra Gorge, where 300-metre limestone walls tower over a narrow river. The landscape then opens into the Tafilalet oasis — first dunes appear on the horizon. Arrive in Merzouga late afternoon. Camel ride at sunset is strongly recommended.
A day entirely given to the desert. Wake before sunrise to climb the Erg Chebbi dunes — up to 150m high — for one of the most extraordinary sunrises on earth. Rest, explore desert villages, or take a quad bike in the afternoon. At sunset, mount a camel and trek deep into the dunes to your private desert camp. Dinner around the fire, music under the stars.
A long drive north, full of surprises. Pass through the Ziz Gorges and palmery. Stop in Midelt for lunch in apple country. Climb through the Azrou cedar forest, where Barbary macaque monkeys live among ancient trees. Cross through the alpine town of Ifrane, then descend to the ancient walls of Fès.
Your last day belongs to Fès el-Bali, the largest car-free urban area in the world. Explore the labyrinthine lanes with a local guide. Visit the Chouara tanneries — leather dyeing pits unchanged since the 11th century. See Al-Quaraouiyine, founded in 859 AD, the world's oldest continuously operating university. End with mint tea on a rooftop overlooking the medina.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Your driver meets you at Marrakech Menara Airport arrivals and the circuit begins immediately. We can also arrange a transfer the evening before if you prefer to rest in Marrakech first.
The standard itinerary ends in Fès. If you need to return to Marrakech, we add a 6th day (Fès → Marrakech via Meknès and the Middle Atlas). Or we can drop you at Fès-Saïss Airport, Rabat or Casablanca — ask us when booking.
Absolutely. This is a recommended program, not a fixed package. Want to add a night in the Dades Gorge, skip Ouarzazate, or end in Marrakech instead of Fès? Tell us during booking and we adjust route and price.
October to April is ideal — mild days in the desert (15–25°C) and cool clear nights for stargazing. The Atlas pass can have snow in Jan–Feb but stays passable. July–August is very hot in Merzouga (40°C+) and not recommended.
